An example of this is coal, a fossil fuel that's been a dominant source of energy for centuries. While it's abundant and easy to extract, burning coal produces harmful substances like sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides, which contribute significantly to air pollution. Moreover, the process of mining coal can lead to water and soil contamination. It's a stark reminder that not all natural resources are environmentally friendly.
